Having worked for both, here are some personal insights into the advocacy benefits that as your broker I can deliver, and that can’t be matched by a direct insurer.

I started my career working for an insurance company where I received excellent industry training on all aspects of insurance. Over time, however, I realised that working for an Insurer was one dimensional. For example, you were limited to only selling their products and services.

This posed significant challenges in solving my client’s insurance requirements due to the limitations and restrictions on the types of policies available and the extent of cover being offered.

After finding it increasingly difficult to accommodate the varied needs of my clients through a single Insurer, I knew it was time to move into brokering where I could access the full range of insurance products and services available in the market.

Being a broker now means that I am able to offer you a wide range of independent insurance solutions tailored to your personal or company requirements. There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to my approach and every insurance policy is aimed to provide you with the best cover possible.

As a broker, success relies on me being able to remain independent from any single Insurer, having access to the full range of insurance solutions and the ability to consistently advocate your interests so you always receive excellent service and the right advice.

After making a decision at the start of my career that if I was going to spend large amounts of time in the workforce, it would need to be in a vocation that I enjoyed.
