The NZbrokers network has been incredibly well-represented in the recent Insurance Business NZ 2018 Young Guns report. Touted as the industry’s rising stars, these young professionals are blazing a trail in an industry being disrupted by evolving customer expectations, emerging technologies, and a continued focus on helping customers manage risk.
The report chose just 20 young professionals to highlight and seven of these are from the NZbrokers network.
Kristin Bridges, Bridges Insurance Services Ltd
Kristin has worked her way up through the organisation and brings a fresh perspective when it comes to decision-making. She’s particularly interested in how technology can help streamline the business’s services. Kristin also won the 2017 Kerry Wilson Insurance Education Charitable Trust Scholarship.
Charlotte Langridge, Runacres Insurance Ltd
Charlotte services a book of commercial clients in the fire and general market, and regularly advocates from the younger generation, supporting newcomers to the industry. She has mentored young colleagues and is looking to promote insurance as a career to other young people.
Chloe Austin, Amicus Brokers Ltd
Chloe’s focus is on maintaining and improving processing standards, work allocation, and training and development. She led her team to success in 2017 with a year-on-year increase in book value of 17 per cent and has pioneered various improvements into how Amicus operates.
Kyle McKean, ICIB
Kyle manages a high volume of claims across commercial, domestic, motor, MDBI, travel, and marine insurance. He has a specific interest and significant experience in earthquake operations and prides himself on finding ways to improve systems and procedures for smarter operations.
Aleisha Semmens, Vercoe Insurance Brokers
Aleisha has international experience and has grown her portfolio by 100 per cent in just 12 months. She has a reputation for building strong customer relationships and is also a key team player, answering technical issues and queries from other staff members and organising the business’s monthly sales meeting.
Rene Swindley, Frank Risk Management Ltd
A co-founder of this disruptive start-up, Rene pioneered the transparent broker model with a simple fee-for-service system. The business is one of NZ’s most successful brokerages and Rene has also set a benchmark for insurtech initiatives after co-founding NZ’s first fully-automated quote and bind property insurance website.
Charlotte Wilkins, Runacres Insurance
Charlotte has significantly improved the business’s communication with existing clients and has excelled in cross-selling products. Her dedication and talent will ensure she has a bright future.
Congratulations to all the Young Guns. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
