Meet our team

Jo Mason

Jo Mason

CEO, NZbrokers

Jo joined NZbrokers on 1 July 2016. Jo has more than 30 years insurance industry experience , both in New Zealand and Australia. Prior to this she was National Manager - Underwriting Agencies and Cluster Groups at Allianz Australia, a role that had responsibility for the Strategic Growth & Development of the Specialised Agencies, including such names as Global Transport, Strata Community Insurance and Pet Plan.  
 
Preceding this role, Jo was NZI’s GM Corporate and Facilities in Auckland where she helped lead the integration of the Lumley NZ business into IAG. 
  
Jo attended INSEAD business school in France & Singapore completing an Advanced Management Programme and is also Senior Associate of ANZIIF.
 
Simon Moss Headshot

Simon Moss

Partner Services Manager, NZbrokers

Simon has worked as a senior underwriter and a senior broker. As an underwriter, he worked for South British, which merged with New Zealand Insurance, then moved to Commercial Union.
 
In 1993, he took up the challenge to become a broker, initially with Marsh (formerly Sedgwick) and then for the local broker, FMR Risk. More recently he was General Manager at Brokernet before joining NZbrokers in 2015.
 
He has been fortunate to work in Canterbury, Mid Canterbury, Wellington, Hawkes Bay and Auckland. As a corporate broker Simon travelled to the UK and Europe with clients, guiding them through their overseas insurance arrangements in those regions.
 
Simon has worked with a wide range of insurance buyers. His personal involvement has been with private and government organisations, in property, construction, transport, health, science, rural, manufacturing and retail sectors, as well as clients with overseas operations. This experience, with a variety of insurers, brokers and clients, has broadened Simon’s knowledge about the insurance landscape in New Zealand and internationally. He is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and experience with Partners of NZbrokers to benefit their clients.
 
Simon has a Diploma in Business Studies (endorsed in Insurance Management - Massey University). These studies included Insurance Management, Risk Management, Public Relations and Human Resource papers.
 
 
Rochelle Nayler

Rochelle Nayler

IT Manager, NZbrokers

Rochelle began her career in the Insurance Industry in 1989. She has experience with both Insurance Companies and Insurance Brokers in a variety of roles including underwriting, claims, binder facilities, account management and broking office accounts as well as office management. In 2010 a change in career direction saw her move into the IT systems side of Insurance with WebForm design, set up and implementation of eGlobal and staff training. Rochelle progressed with this career path in a role at Ebix as a Software Consultant working with ongoing development, testing, implementation, training and support of eGlobal.
 
In 2014 Rochelle joined NZbrokers Management where she leads a skilled IT Team, focussed on support and development for current systems taking NZbrokers into the future in the Information Technology space.
 
Rochelle is currently completing a Diploma of Leadership & Management through the AUB Academy.
 
 
Wayne Quinlan

Wayne Quinlan

Technical Manager

Wayne has 47 years of experience in the insurance industry.
 
Commencing his insurance career in 1970 with Norwich Union, Wellington, he subsequently went on to work for several general insurers, Commercial Union, Intermediary Insurance Services, MMI General Insurance and Allianz before joining BrokerWeb Management Limited, who later became NZbrokers Management Limited.
 
Wayne has held various roles in both sales and underwriting, as well as senior management positions before being appointed General Manager, BrokerWeb Management in 2002, a role he retained until December 2016 before semi-retiring and taking up the current role of Technical Manager.
 
Outside of Work Wayne is a keen golfer, being a member of the Huapai and Fairview Golf Clubs, enjoys spending time at his bach in Waihi Beach, travelling and fine wine.
 
 

Megan Walker

Systems Analyst & Administrator, NZbrokers

With her cross-sector knowledge of broking and system platforms, Megan is a problem-solver, dedicated to creating efficiencies and driven to work smarter. Megan began her insurance career in 2008 with Bay Insurance Brokers based in Tauranga. In mid-2014 she was approached to join the NZbrokers team in Auckland prompting a move to pursue her interest in IT systems.
 
From her time in a broking environment Megan gained valuable and wide-ranging industry knowledge through various roles including Personal Assistant and Advisor.  Here at NZbrokers Megan works as part of the Support Team where she assists the IT Manager, Rochelle, as 2IC, and utilises her technical expertise to maintain and develop the systems used by our partners.
 
Outside of the office Megan can be found enjoying the kiwi outdoors either on foot, on the water, or from the passenger seat of a rally car where she is a successful co-driver. Her passion for health and fitness has recently led to pursuing qualification as a Personal Trainer which she is finalising in 2017.
 
 

David Lo

Systems Analyst & Administrator, NZbrokers

David joined NZbrokers in May 2016 as a Systems Analyst and Administrator. Prior to working here, David spent 13 years at Vero Insurance in various roles, including AMP General, Vero Online Support (VOS) and Business Analyst.
 
One of his proudest career achievements to date was assisting in the rollout of Vero’s vLink connectivity with eGlobal to all members.
 
Outside of work David likes going to the movies, gym and playing indoor netball. He also enjoys more unusual pastimes, currently these are Lego minifigures and Fantasy Basketball.
 
 

Bojana Rosandic

IT Support

Bojana moved from Serbia with her family in 1996 and has found a much-loved new home in New Zealand. She joined the NZbrokers Management team in August 2015 in an IT support role.
 
In her previous position at Ebix, Bojana gained good knowledge of eGlobal which has allowed her to expand her skills. Bojana assists the support team with ongoing eGlobal maintenance, reports, enhancement and development and also enjoys building good rapport with members across the group.
 
Bojana has a New Zealand Diploma in Business from Open Polytechnic and she enjoys implementing her accounting skills whenever needed. In her spare time, she is a big movie goer and avid basketball, tennis and rugby league supporter. Word of advice – don’t engage her in any debates about her favourite teams, it’s probably an argument you are going to lose.
 
 
 

Shane Harris

Software Architect, NZbrokers

Shane joined NZbrokers in 2011 as a Software Architect. He has worked in software development for 17 years, much of which has been at a senior level.
 
After completing a bachelor degree in Computer and Information Science at Otago University, he worked in Dunedin for several years. Whilst there he was fortunate enough to hold a position in the NZ Pharmacovigilance Centre at Otago University and at Animation Research, the company known for its sports animations including the Americas cup racing animations.
 
Shane has since worked for a number of well-known New Zealand companies including AgResearch and Kiwibank. He has worked on a diverse range of IT projects ranging from an Air Traffic Control Tower Simulator for Airways New Zealand, to the redevelopment of the Internet banking system for Kiwibank.
 
 
Danielle Brookbanks

Danielle Brookbanks

Office Administrator

Danielle works part time for NZbrokers as an Office Administrator and Executive Assistant. Most recently, Danielle has worked as a Key Account Manager in the beauty distribution industry with large FMCG clients in Australia. Prior to that, she worked in London in Sales and Client Services for a leading provider of energy trading solutions to traders, brokers and exchanges. Danielle moved back to her native New Zealand with her young family in late 2015 and started work for NZbrokers in early 2017.

Mark Searles

Mark Searles

Chairman, NZbrokers
AUB Group Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director

Mark joined AUB Group on 1 January 2013. Prior to this, he was General Manager, Broker & Agent at CGU where he managed CGU’s intermediary distribution capabilities and was responsible for over $1.9 billion of GWP.
 
Preceding this role, he was CGU’s Chief Commercial Officer & General Manager for Retail. Mark has also held senior management roles in the UK at Zurich Financial Services, Sage Group PLC and Lloyds TSB Group where he was Chief Executive Officer of CSL/Goldfish/Goldfish Bank – UK’s leading direct-to-customer financial services group.
 
Mark holds a Diploma in Market Research, a Diploma in Advertising and Marketing and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Studies. In addition, he has undertaken the Executive Development Program, IMD Lausanne, and the AICD Advanced Board Ready Program and AICD Diploma.
 
Keith McIvor

Keith McIvor

Director NZbrokers 
Managing Director NZbrokers Holdings, AUB Group Head of Group Development.

Keith  joined AUB Group on 1 August 2013 as the Groups Chief Broking Officer, with over 28 years’ insurance industry experience in New Zealand, Australia and internationally. Prior to this, he was CEO of OAMPS Insurance Brokers, a Wesfarmers Company which had 800 staff and in excess of $1 billion in client GWP.
 
Preceding this role, was Executive General Manager and a shareholder in Crombie Lockwood New Zealand, a company he spent 17 years with.
 
Keith holds a Diploma in Insurance & Insurance Broking and a Diploma in Strategic Planning. In addition, he is Fellow of IBANZ, Senior Associate of ANZIIF (CIP), Fellow of Australian Institute of Management, GAICD and has previously held a Director position on NIBA.
 
Jim Harris

Jim Harris

Founding Director, NZbrokers

Jim started BrokerWeb Management with David Archer in 2001, he spent the next 15 years as Managing Director, stepping down June 2016. Much of NZbrokers success and direction can be attributed to his hard work and vision.
 
Jim has more than 40 years’ insurance industry experience. He has spent more than 20 years in senior insurance company management roles, including 13 years as Managing Director of Intermediary Insurance Services Ltd (a division of National Insurance) and MMI General Insurance (N.Z.) Limited (now Allianz New Zealand Limited).
 
Additionally, Jim has been a Board Member of the Insurance Council of New Zealand for a number of years.
